Multiple Users in an Event
This article assists users with understanding the features banner related to multiple users in a single event or form.
When two or more users enter information into a form simultaneously, data will be lost as one saves and then the other. One’s information will overwrite the other’s. Giving attention to the banners that appear at the top of the screen when secondary or tertiary members enter the event or form and leaving the event if the banner appears will prevent data loss.
Banners
When someone is in an event, and another user enters the event, a blue message banner will appear at the top of the entering user’s screen, warning that two or more users are in the event.
If an entering user enters the same form as another user, a yellow banner will warn the newly entering user that two users are in the same form.
If an entering user receives the yellow banner message, it’s strongly recommended that this user leave the event and communicate with their team to coordinate edits.
The original person in the event will not receive this message unless they refresh their screen. Those who’ve entered after the first user will receive the message. They are responsible for communicating with the first person in the event or leaving the event and returning later.
Who is in the Event?
You can discover who else is in the event by clicking the i on the right side of the banner. A list of any other users in the event appears, as well as the form they are currently in.
Notice that other users' e-mail addresses are listed when you click the i so they may be easily contacted. If someone else is in the same form, exit and wait for them to finish. If other users are in the same event, it is best to exit and wait for the first user to finish, or to coordinate which forms each person will be working on. Remember that any users already in the form when you enter it do not get notifications that you are now working. It is easy to lose work if two people simultaneously work in the same event.
