Endpoint Manager - Autopilot Reset

Endpoint Manager - Autopilot Reset

This will reset an Endpoint Managed laptop and prepare it for a new user.

CAUTION: This method is currently not working

Prerequisites

In order for a device to be reset the following criteria is required:

  1. A device must have an Autopilot profile assigned to it. You can check this in Devices - Enrollment - then search for the serial number.

  2. The device must have an associated Azure AD device record and an Intune device record. You can check this from autopilot by clicking on the device we just looked up.

Procedure

The device should have a good physical network connection and be on prior to reset.

  1. Look up the device in Endpoint Manager and go to that device record

  2. Select the button “Autopilot Reset” and a pop up window should appear

  3. Select “Yes” when you’re ready to send the command to the device

  4. We’re still currently doing some testing but you may need to restart the device after 15 minutes to acknowledge the command and begin the wipe.

  5. If a user is logged in they will be forcibly logged out and the device will reset after 45 minutes
