We are pleased to share that SSD is focusing on an effort to utilize the Microsoft 365 applications throughout the district. As an organization, we have made the decision to use this powerful collaboration and productivity platform because it provides a superior solution for our organization’s needs.  

No matter what your work responsibilities, we are certain you will find many opportunities to benefit from using Microsoft 365. It will enable you to collaborate, increase productivity, and raise your efficiency to a new level. In addition, it will allow SSD to achieve significant steps towards integrating our work and narrowing down the systems we use each day.

Accessing Office 365 apps

You may also access Office 365 by typing in, www.office.com into your web browser. If you have any issues logging in follow the steps in the Logging into Office 365 and Outlook (Email) article.

  1. Go to the SSD Portal, https://portal.ssdmo.org

  2. Click on the Applications link and click the Office 365 button.

OneDrive

Access and edit your files from all your devices. Share internally to SSD staff. Work together in real-time on Office documents. Quickly find the files that matter to you. Keep your files protected and backed up.

Outlook (Email, Calendar, People, Tasks)

Organize your email to focus on the messages that matter most. Manage your calendar to schedule meetings and appointments. Share files from the cloud so everyone always has the latest version. Stay connected and productive wherever you are. Work efficiently with email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and more—together in one place. Office integration lets you share attachments right from OneDrive, access contacts, and view LinkedIn profiles.

Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration and video conferencing service that enables staff to communicate from any location - via text chat, voice call or video conference.

Word

Create documents from scratch, or a template. Add text, images, art, and videos. Research a topic and find credible sources. Save to OneDrive, to get to your documents from your computer, tablet, or phone. Share your documents, and work with others. Track and review changes. Collaborate in real time.

Excel

Excel makes it easy to crunch numbers. With Excel, you can streamline data entry with AutoFill. Then, get chart recommendations based on your data, and create them with one click. Or, easily spot trends and patterns with data bars, color coding, and icons. Collaborate in real time.

PowerPoint

Create presentations from scratch or a template. Add text, images, art, and videos. Select a professional design with PowerPoint Designer. Add transitions, animations, and motion. Save to OneDrive, to get to your presentations from your computer, tablet, or phone. Share and work with others, wherever they are.

OneNote

OneNote is a digital notebook that automatically saves and synchronizes your notes as you work. Type information in your notebook or insert it from other apps and web pages. Take handwritten notes or draw your ideas. Use highlighting and tags for easy follow-up. Share notebooks to collaborate with others. Access your notebooks from any device.

Stream

Microsoft Stream the intelligent video service in Office 365 makes it easy to create, securely share, and interact with video, whether in a team or across your organization.

Forms

With Microsoft Forms, you can create surveys, quizzes, and polls, and easily see results as they come in.

Delve

Use Delve to manage your Office 365 profile, and to discover and organize the information that's likely to be most interesting to you right now - across Office 365. Delve never changes any permissions, so you'll only see documents that you already have access to. Other people will not see your private documents.

Bookings

A booking page where your customers can schedule appointments with the staff member who should provide the service. You can link this page to your email signature, where your customers can schedule appointments, or your own website.


Comparing Google Apps and Office 365

Below is a quick comparison of Google Apps and Office 365. It is important to know that both of these suites of applications overlap and do many of the same things. It is up to you and your department processes as to which application will meet your needs. Use the table below to guide you.
