Logging into Microsoft 365 and Outlook (Email)

This article is to assist users with the correct username and password to use when logging into Microsoft 365 and Outlook (Email).

Step-by-step guide

There are many ways to access SSD Microsoft 365 applications. If you are on a SSDCO domain connected device, then in many cases you will automatically be logged in when accessing Microsoft 365 through the SSD Portal, Mail application, or directly through the https://portal.office.com, URL.

There are some circumstances in which you will have to login using your Microsoft 365 username and password when using Microsoft 365 applications like Stream, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, etc. In these cases please use the information below.

  1. Using a web browser, type portal.office.com into the address bar.

  2. Click the Sign in button. If you are not already signed in, you will be asked to login.

  3. In the Sign In window, you will need to enter in your SSD User Principal Name (UPN) into the box. SSD UPN is your SSD username @ssdmo.org. For example, username@ssdmo.org

  4. Type in your SSD UPN and then click the Next button.

  5. You will be redirected to the Special School District login page.

  6. Enter in your SSD Password and click the Sign in button.

  7. The next window will ask you, "Stay signed in?" Click the Yes button.

  8. On the left-hand side of the screen, you will see icons for the Microsoft 365 applications that you have access to. If you hover the cursor over an application, you will see the name of the application. Outlook (Email) will be the fourth application listed from the top. Click on the Outlook icon to open Outlook (Email).
