Joining a Team with a code
This article provides information on how to join a Microsoft Team with a code.
Joining a team
Double click Teams on the left side of the app.
Click Join or create a team in the top right side of the screen.
Go to Join a team with a code, paste/enter the code you received from the Team Owner in the Enter code box, and click Join.
Team codes may only be used to invite SSD employees to join and become a Member of a team. External users are NOT permitted to join or be a member of any SSD Team; however, they can still be invited to participate in Teams meetings.
Creating a code
Team owners can generate a code and share it with SSD staff members to join a team. This is the recommended option to use when you need to invite more than thirty people to your team.
When you send someone a code for joining a team, they can join directly—you won’t get a join request. You can use the code as many times as you want.
If you’re a team owner, go to the team name and click More options > Manage team.
Select the Settings tab > Team code > Generate.
Click Copy.
Share the code with your invitees however you choose—send the code to a single person via chat or send an email with the code.
