This article describes the steps needed to set up Chromebit and Chrome Sign Builder for Technicians

Instructions

  • Create Slideshow Files in Google Slides

    • Create 11 files inside Google Drive, and share those files with Melanie for editing purposes.

    • All of the files have web publishing turned on so that they can be used as a revolving slideshow.

    • 10 of the files are named and labeled by the day of the week, and whether they fall into session 1 or session 2.

    • The 11th file is named as SSD LOGO BOARD.

  • Setup Slide Show in Chrome Sign Builder

  • The daily schedule starts with Session 1 at 7am to 4:30pm. The named file for that day and session 1 is then scheduled to play.

    • The schedule continues with Session 2 from 4:30pm to 10:00pm. The named file for that day and session 2 is then scheduled to play.

    • The SSD LOGO BOARD file then plays from 10:00pm to 7:00am each week day and all day on the weekends.

    • Exported the complete schedule to a .text file. 

  • Configured Chromebit inside G Suite Admin Console to run the schedule.

    • Their devices reside inside ssdmo.org / Sites / Central Office / Devices / Planning and Development.

    • Settings are found inside Device management / App Management / Chrome Sign Builder / Kiosk Settings.

      • Imported the .text schedule file under Configure.

      • Install Automatically must be enabled.

      • Plugins must be set to run automatically.

      • No other settings must be set or overridden.
