Event information

Consult your SSD Administrator before completing any Transfer documentation.

The Annual IEP (Transfer) event is created when the Transfer event is locked by the SSD Administrator or SSD Building Principal based on information entered on the transfer form. It is completed for a student who has transferred into Special School District from a school within the state of Missouri.  It is not used for an out-of-state transfer when an Initial IEP is completed.

If the IEP was accepted exactly as written, a "bare bones" IEP can be entered. If the IEP was not accepted, a new IEP must be held.

A new IEP must be held if any information cannot be entered exactly as it appears in the IEP received from the previous school or if that information needs to be amended before the next IEP is due.

For detailed information about the IEP Case Manager’s responsibilities in the transfer process, please refer to Transfer Procedures-IEP Chair Responsibilities and In-State Transfer Procedures Step by Step Guide.

If the student has never had a Missouri IEP, contact Technology Services and request that the IEP (Transfer) be changed to an Initial IEP.

This event is not used to document comparable services that will be provided for a student.  Comparable services are documented on the Comparable Services form in the Transfer Event.

Parental Consent for Initial Services is not required for an in-state transfer.
