Event information

The Exit Event documents the reason a student is not actively receiving special education services.

In certain scenarios, such as a student being found ineligible for a disability through an initial evaluation or reevaluation, the Phoenix system generates an Exit Event.  In this case the student is exited when the Initial Eligibility or Reevaluation is locked. The Exit Event serves only as a record of the student's exit.

In other scenarios, such as the student moving outside of St. Louis County or graduating, the Case Manager notifies the Student Data (SIS) Secretary who creates and completes the event. The student is exited when the Exit Event is locked.

Once the student has been exited, either after being found ineligible or locking the Exit event, all future events are deleted. The student is no longer active in Phoenix and can only return to an active status through an initial referral or a transfer.
