Lawson
Technology Services is in the process of upgrading of Lawson. This project was initiated by the vendor, Infor, in an effort to update the web interface of Lawson. Lawson is supported by Infor and Infor maintains the servers for this application. The upgrade will occur on Friday, 1/07/2022. Lawson will be available the start of business on Monday, 1/10/2022.

Q: Why are we upgrading now?
A: Infor announced on 10/05/2020, that they will be retiring Infor version 10.0 of Infor Mingle, IFS, ION, IDM, Smart Office and Mashup Designer on 10/1/2021. This decision was made due to version 10.0 using the web application Microsoft Silverlight, which Microsoft is no longer supporting as of 10/01/2021.
Q: What can you expect the week of Friday, 01/21/2022?
A: You will receive a reminder email about the upgrade when you return from winter break detailing the time frame of when the current version of Lawson will be down and when the new version will be up and running. When you return, the following Monday, you will be using the new URL to access Lawson. The old URL will no longer take you to the login screen. The SSD Portal will have the updated URL, the Knowledge Center will have the updated URL on the documentation and you will receive the new URL in the reminder email.
Q: Will I lose any functionality or have to change my Lawson processes?
A: No. All the same functionality and Lawson processes will be there. The only differences are with the user interface and the new URL. Q: Do I need to update my shortcuts to Lawson on my desktop or any browser bookmarks/favorites?
A: Yes. Any shortcut or browser saved bookmark/favorite that uses the old URL will need to be deleted. New browser bookmarks and desktop shortcuts will need to be created with the new URL. However, your bookmarks that you have in the Lawson application will be accessible and will not have to be re-created.
