Connect to Wifi (Mac)

When you need to connect to wifi inside of the Macintosh (Apple) environment, this short guide will show you how.

Step-by-step guide

You will need to be logged onto your Mac in order to follow these steps. There are two different ways to accomplish

  1. In the top right corner of your Mac you will see a number of icons depending on the software on your system. One of these symbols is a wifi symbol. You'll notice that it looks like an expanding wave with filled or empty bars depending on the strength of your signal.

  2. If you click on the wifi symbol you should have options to pick what Wireless Network you want to join

  3. For us, we chose SSD_Secured and use the SSD Username and SSD Password to authenticate to join the network.

  4. Additionally, you can chose your wireless network inside of System Preferences.

  5. You can do this by selecting the Apple at the top left and choosing System Preferences...

  6. Your next selection should be the "Network" option.

  7. When you select "Network" you'll next want to make sure you're on the Wifi tab. From here you can pick the "Network Name" and select what Wireless Network you'd like to join. At our buildings "SSD_Secured" is the choice you want. Using your SSD Username/Password will authenticate you onto that Network.
