The Summary tab is used to update the status of the case as well as to track the amount of time the case was in each status. The Request Number can also be added or edited on this tab if necessary.

The Summary, IEP, Personnel, Log, and Device tabs are disabled when the Student Services tab is opened. The Demographics tab is hidden until the case is moved to the "COMPLETED" status. To activate the tabs, click the Select button on the Case Grid for the case you wish to view.

Open the Summary Tab

  1. Select the case on the Case Grid.

  2. If the Summary tab does not open, select the tab.

Move a Case to a New Status

Moving a case to a new status creates a new row with the current date entered as the Begin Date, and Time in Status set to zero days. The previous status is ended and the number of days spent in that status is updated. A status can be used more than once during a case.

When "Completing" a case be sure to move the case to "Completed" status instead of updating the current status. This will add the End Date to the case and maintain the status history.

  1. Do not select a row on the status grid. Selecting a row changes the status in that row, it does not create a new status in a new row with a new Begin Date.

  2. Select the new Status from the drop down.

  3. Save

  4. The Request Number can also be added or edited on the Summary tab. After saving, the number will be updated on the Manager Case Grid.

  5. The new Status line is created with the current date as the Begin Date. It is shown as the ACTIVE Status.

  6. The previous Status is updated with the current date as the End Date and and the number of days spent in that status is updated.

  7. The name of the person making the change, along with the date and time the change was made, appears in the row.

Update an Existing Status

This is used if the Status is incorrect, not to move a case to a new Status. It changes the Status entry in the selected row, it does not update the Begin Date, and does not enter an End Date for the Status.

  1. Click the Select button for the row. The row is highlighted and the Status from the row fills into the Status field.

  2. Select the new Status.

  3. Save.

  4. The name of the person making the change, along with the date and time the change was made, appears in the row.

  5. The Request Number can also be added or edited on the Summary tab. After saving, the number will be updated on the Manager Case Grid.

Update an Existing Type

This is used if the Type is incorrect on the Summary tab.

  1. Click the Select button for the row. The row is highlighted.

  2. Go to the Personnel tab.

  3. Click the Select button for the Personnel row.

  4. Add the correct staff names.

  5. Save

  6. The Type will be correct on the Summary tab.
