The IEP tab is used to associate a case with IEP, SP, IEP Amendment, and IEP Correction events, and goals included in the events. Progress on the goals can be entered. When the case is created, the current IEP/SP event is added. If a new IEP, SP, IEP Amendment, or IEP Correction event is locked, it must be associated with the case and goals added.

The Summary, IEP, Personnel, Log, and Device tabs are disabled when the Student Services tab is opened. The Demographics tab becomes visible when a case is moved to the "COMPLETED" status. To activate the tabs, click the Select button on the Case Grid for the case you wish to view.

Open the IEP Tab

  1. Select the case on the Case Grid.

  2. Select the IEP tab.  

    1. The list of all IEPs associated with the case displays on the grid.

    2. The active row is identified by “ACTIVE” with green fill. This does not indicate the status of the IEP/SP event. 


Add Goals to the Case

  1. On the IEP grid, Select the IEP which includes the goal(s) you wish to add to the case. 

  2. In the Goal section, click the Goal field. 

  3. Select the goal from the Goal list.

  4. Save.

  5. The goal is added to the Goal Grid with the goal Begin and End Dates.

  6. The name of the person who inserted the goal, along with the date and time the goal was added, appears in the row.

  7. On the Case Grid, the number of goals associated with the case updates.

  8. Additional goals can be added by following the same steps. 


Add Progress for Goals

  1. Select the IEP which includes the goal(s).

  2. Select the goal.

  3. In the Progress section, click the Progress field. 

  4. Select the Progress level from the list.

  5. Select the Date of the report. The current date or a past date may be entered.

  6. Save.

  7. The progress record is added to the Progress Grid with the Progress Date and Progress level.

  8. The name of the person who completed the report, along with the date and time the report was saved, appears in the row.

Edit Progress on a Goal

  1. Select the IEP which includes the goal.

  2. Select the goal.

  3. Select the Progress record.

  4. Edit the information.

  5. Save.

  6. The name of the person making the change, along with the date and time the change was made, appears in the row. 


Associate a New IEP/SP Event with the Case

When the Plan Status of an active case (a case with with no End Date) says END with red fill. a new IEP, SP, IEP Amendment or IEP Correction event has been locked in Phoenix. The new event must be associated with the case and the appropriate goals added. In this example the student has a new IEP Amendment which ended the Annual IEP. 

  1. Select the case on the Case Grid.

  2. Select the IEP tab, but do not select an IEP on the grid. The field to select the new IEP event is disabled when an IEP is selected.

    1. NOTE: The green, ACTIVE badge on this grid does not refer to the status of the event, it indicates the active row. 

  3. In the IEP section, click the IEP dropdown.

  4. Select the new IEP/SP event. Only one event is available to select.

  5. Save.

  6. The grid is updated with new information.

  7. The name of the person making the change, along with the date and time the change was made, appears in the row.

After associating a new IEP with the case, the goals for the new IEP must be added. Return to the section titled "Add Goals to the Case" on this page.
